ANGIE
AND JUANITA SHELTON UNLOADING TOBACCO
I
remember the first crop of tobacco we ever made. My
daddy made it on Bob Norton’s place. I would’ve
been seventeen year old. I guess my daddy raised two
or three acres. They didn’t have to have no allotment
when they first raised it. They could raise every bit
of it they wanted. There weren’t so many people
raisin it when it first come out, but I know my daddy
raised it. I guess they just didn’t want to be
bothered with it at the first beginning - didn’t
know how it would go about selling. They found out the
next year how people got so much out of it and then
bunches of them went to raisin it. |
