Forests cover three quarters of the land in Madison
County and much of the land taken for I-26 is in high
mountain forest. When I stop walking and just sit in
the woods for a time, the birds become more evident.
This morning there is one in particular who is very
vocal, singing the same song over and over. Is he alerting
others to my presence, or giving me his song?
